Stop creating for the church and start creating for you.  Not all the time, just a little bit each week and not during work hours unless your church encourages it like google does.  Take on a project that is uniquely you that has no utilitarian motive except to express you.  Create for the sole purpose of expressing yourself or expressing your relationship with God.  Having an outlet to create outside of work will allow you a venue to be true to your self and will probably give you more inspiration at work when you are trying to create for a specific purpose.  Recently I took up painting.  The last time I painted something was probably in elementary school, however I found this exercise refreshing and rewarding as I was able to create something that wasn’t going to be used at church to communicate something.  What I have found is that when I create for me just a little bit each week I am able to fill that itch inside me that is craving to express something deeply personal that most of the time can’t be expressed in a utilitarian environment.
