Celebrating Creativity

This past weekend we had a party for our student drama/media teams.  We gathered at a house and watched several of the videos and dramas from this past semester, ate pizza and laughed at ourselves.  After we reviewed the semester we started talking about all the things these two teams have accomplished.  We shared stories of students who were affected by a drama or a video.  Some of the students even shared personal stories of how being apart of the team has helped them get connected to the church and feel apart of something unique and special.

There was something about having this celebration that was very right and felt very good.  Towards the end of our meeting we spent time in prayer and seeking God for the coming semester.

I think sometimes we can be really good about meeting to discuss projects, meeting to accomplish projects and still fail to meet to celebrate the projects and the people who volunteered their time and resources.  The celebration is so important in my opinion because it creates the vision to keep going, to keep creating, to keep striving.
