Allowing time for you to truly be creative

I love the initial phase of coming up with ideas.  I love brainstorming, praying and asking God for ideas that are bigger than me.  I love writing concepts, scripts and coming up with storyboards.  It is in these moments where the critical pieces of creativity come together and I get to be “creative.”  The problem I find myself in sometimes is that I don’t always allow myself do this initial act of creativity.  I find myself doing tasks I could easily have others do such as editing projects, updating websites or data entry.   I have come to the conclusion that I have to be very particular with how I spend my time and how I ask others for help so that I can do what only I can do really well.  This week I have four volunteers coming in at random times to help with certain projects.  I could easily do all these projects myself, however allowing others to do a task that allows me time will give me the latitude to dream up other projects and focus on the quality of existing ones.
