Everything Is A Remix
I recently came across a series of videos called, Everything Is A Remix by short film producer Kirby Ferguson. He’s done a great job of documenting inspiration in pop culture as it applies to the arts. His argument is that nothing is absolutely original in the arts. It is all inspired from something else. The truth of the matter is that everything really is a remix. The author of Ecclesiastes said the same thing a long, long time ago.
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
What’s interesting is that he made that statement around 950 B.C. Three thousand years later, that statement is truer than ever.
